RoomSync Twitter & Instagram integration was noted in the November-December 2014 issue of Talking Stick. RoomSync users simply have to add their Twitter and Instagram handles to their RoomSync profiles to allow other residents to view their Twitter or Instagram profiles with one click. See the mention here.
While 95% of college students still use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram easily grab second and third place on a growing number of social media sites geared toward young adults. They are far and away more popular than other platforms such as Pinterest, LinkedIn, Vine, Snapchat, Tumblr, and Blend. Studies vary, but the general consensus is that roughly 80% of college students use Twitter and roughly 73% of college students use Instagram, bearing in mind that these numbers are consistently on the rise.
By integrating Twitter and Instagram profiles, RoomSync is able to capture a broader representation of each individual student and their tastes, preferences, and lifestyle. This integration also furthers a very unique component of self-selection: Personality. It is impossible to decipher a person’s personality from a vague paper questionnaire. RoomSync already overcomes this challenge by using Facebook to capture a person’s true identity. But, with the use of a running stream of thoughts from Twitter and a visual porthole into activities and interests from Instagram, RoomSync is now able to offer an even deeper picture of who a user is.
This feature aids RoomSync’s efforts to create transparency in self-selection profiles, thereby creating honest and promising matches that will stand the test of time.
